Meeting your Data Migration and Integration Needs with MEDITECH and Forward Advantage

In 2010, the company sought to expand its offerings within the MEDITECH market by combining with Infinity Healthcare Solutions, which now serves as Forward Advantage’s Migration and Integration Services (MIS) division. MIS has laid the foundation for offering strategic migration services to hospitals moving to the MEDITECH 6.0 platform.  As an example, MIS uses a Message Interface Analyzer tool (referred to as MIA) to identify key differences with a customer’s interfaces as they migrate from their existing MAGIC or Client/Server platform to the 6.0 platform.

“MIA is a powerful tool that will ease the interface migration process for customers, especially when migrating downstream systems that do not provide a mechanism to test interfaces,” says Mike Cordeiro, interoperability manager at MEDITECH. “MIA will allow hospitals to analyze interface transactions between the 6.0 and MAGIC platforms and account for data differences which would have otherwise been found much later in the testing process. Knowing about such interface differences early in the process can ensure a successful 6.0 go-live."

Forward Advantage’s MIS division is also managing the company’s new FA Connections Engine, available exclusively to the MEDITECH market. FA Connections Engine is designed to simplify the programming, configuration, and maintenance of the interfaces connecting a healthcare organization’s HCIS. The solution is available to customers on all MEDITECH platforms, with a user-friendly design that can be deployed and managed entirely in-house or by Forward Advantage.
