The Foundational HIE Solution for MEDITECH Communities

In collaboration with MEDITECH, Forward Advantage has co-developed CHIEF to facilitate the exchange of healthcare information based on industry standards. CHIEF lays the groundwork by supporting the Meaningful Use criteria for Stages 1 and 2 and preparing the foundation for Stage 3. Hospitals and ambulatory offices that are part of an integrated delivery network (IDN) or health information exchange (HIE) submit patient encounter information to a registry and, depending upon their configuration, may submit a patient’s summary of care record as well. Users can run searches to identify and retrieve available documents and images from other participants in the exchange. CHIEF leverages a proven, IHE standards-based technical framework and is flexible, scalable, and customizable to meet your community’s needs for an HIE.
