Communication Director can handle your enterprise-wide faxing and report distribution needs including needs intelligent, automated inbound & outbound faxing and electronic desktop faxing.

Master Patient Index (MPI) Conversion Services*

Forward Advantage will work to convert your current MPI to MEDITECH MaaS.

Master Patient Index (MPI) conversions

If you are converting from another EMR system, your MaaS subscription includes services from Forward Advantage to convert MPI data from your existing EMR to MaaS. Each EMR system's MPI data is unique, and our team of experts are trained to streamline the conversion process.

How MPI conversions work

1. Extraction

If a customer has direct access to the source database or reporting capabilities from the source system, Forward Advantage can extract the required information. If not, customer is expected to provide the required patient information as defined within the MEDITECH specification.

2. Conversion

Forward Advantage will format the source data to meet MEDITECH's required specification.

Step 2 is conversion and transforming and formatting patient data.

3. Import & testing

Forward Advantage hand-offs conversion files to MEDITECH for import. Throughout the process, Forward Advantage works hand-in-hand with MEDITECH through the testing of files and ultimately loading off files into LIVE.

Forward Advantage requires remote access to your network, and a temporary workstation on your network for creating the MPI conversion files. In preparation, we recommend building the conversion workstation as soon as possible utilizing these system requirements.

Customer Network Access

Identify the options for accessing the MPI data such as Database Access and Reporting Modules.

Review MPI data from your existing sources/vendors and complete any cleanup of the data prior to the beginning of the conversion to ensure clean, accurate data will be converted.

Be prepared to provide access to Forward Advantage unless you will be extracting the patient data.

Communication Director in MaaS utilizes a high deliverability cloud faxing service. Preparing to move (port) any existing inbound faxing numbers and to test both on-demand desktop faxing as well as automated faxing is beneficial
